| Lois, having helped
restore Clark's memory of Superman, packed her
bags. She refused to hold Clark to a marriage he
entered into without full knowledge of who he
was. Clark, however, did not want out of the
marriage. In fact, he wanted to marry her again,
but as Superman this time and "Kryptonian
style." Whether the moral
of this story was "virtue is its own
reward" or "honesty is the best
policy", Lois and Superman finally grew up.
This love match in the Earth II continuity was a
surprising turn of events in which Lois finally
became Superman's peer and life partner and the
story lines provided a true alternative to the
meta-human slug fests and the Lana verus Lois
hair-pulling bouts in the regular comic
continuity.
