Some of you may wonder what we mean when we refer to "Suen's Statue." Australian FOLC Tan Lin Suen was unable to attend the August, 1995 FOLCfest in Burbank. However, he sent along a wooden carving from Borneo, saying that it would fit well in Clark Kent's apartment, given the story line that Clark had travelled the world before coming to Metropolis. The statue is of a warrior carrying a shield and sword. It is about a foot tall. Suen thought it would be cute if we could somehow get it onto the set while we were at the FoLCfest.

When we met the cast, Kaz Irving "presented" the statue to Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher. With great humor, Kaz commented that it might, in fact, be a fertility symbol. Dean and Teri promised to find it a home on the Clark Kent apartment set.

The statue has, indeed, found a home. It can be seen briefly on a shelf in Clark's apartment about halfway through "Don't Tug on Superman's Cape.".

If you're REALLY curious, a scan of the statue can be found in the CompuServe SFMEDTWO forum, in Library 5. The file is: statue.jpg.
