 In the first season, Tracy Scoggins played the part of "Cat Grant." By the second season, Cat Grant and Ms. Scoggins were nowhere to be seen. Her character has never even been mentioned in second or third season episodes. The explanations for her departure were even more vague than those proferred regarding Mr. Landes'. During executive producer Robert Singer's February 1996 on-line interview, list member nancy in chicago asked:

"Question: Why was there never any closure for the Cat Grant character?

"LnC Singer: Hi Nancy. Tracy Scoggins had other commitments in our second year so we couldn't do what you suggested."

Sharp-eyed viewers of "The House of Luthor " (the first season finale), noticed a headline in a fake tabloid featured in the show reading "Space Aliens Stole My Cat." An inside joke of some sort?
